A garage or showroom floor should be considered as part of the space. Color, texture, and sheen shape its appearance; concrete condition, preparation, and a compatible coating system support its performance.

Assess the slab first

Existing coatings, moisture, cracks, oil contamination, and surface condition influence preparation and product choice. Cleaning alone may not create the surface profile a particular coating requires. The proposed system should specify the required preparation.

Compare coating systems

Epoxy and polyaspartic products have different properties, and performance varies by formulation. A system may include a primer, base coat, decorative flakes, and a protective topcoat. Ask which layers are included and why they suit the space.

Product guidance and site conditions determine application, recoat, and curing windows. The written scope should explain when the floor can return to use.

Plan for daily use

Vehicle traffic, sunlight, cleaning products, and the way you use the garage all matter. Discuss appearance, traction, and maintenance together. A textured finish can affect both grip and cleaning; review the options before choosing.

Retail and commercial spaces

Showrooms, salons, and other occupied businesses need a plan for access and return to service. Colors and decorative finishes can support the look of the space while the coating system addresses expected wear.

What affects cost

Area, repairs, existing coating removal, preparation, and the selected finish determine the scope. Evaluate the benefit for your own use; a coating does not come with a guaranteed resale return.
